Try an outdoor electric grill
I am sure that if you owned charcoal and propane grills in the past that broke easily and got dirty very quickly, you should be ready for a change. This Weber outdoor electric grill is more reliable, easier to handle and clean, it cooks great and it does not use any charcoal or propane.
The grill has a built-in thermostat and the temperature adjustment works fine. The secret to this Weber electric grill is to follow the instructions it comes with. It really cooks exactly as the instructions recommend and the finished product in impressive: fish, chicken, beef, veggies, just wonderful.
When cooking steak though, I noticed a slight difference between electric grills and charcoal or propane grills. With electric grills steaks tend to be a bit drier, still very tasty though. But if you are not using a marinade or a rub you will notice that your meat will get a little tougher than normal.
You only have to preheat this grill for 10-15 minutes before use; if you leave it on for 20 or 30 minutes before cooking, the coil will get very hot and it will shut off by itself. And then if you put the meat on the grill, it is no longer at the optimal temperature.
This Weber Q140 is one the best electric outdoor grills I tried, it is perfect for your balcony or patio. When the lid is closed the grill will get hotter and hotter until it exceeds 500F then it shuts off. If the lid is open it will never reach 500F.
Giving restrictions of city living where naked flames are not allowed within ten feet of a building, an outdoor electric grill is a breath of fresh air. This one has all the advantages of a Weber grill like portability, easy cleaning and nice aluminum construction.
The removable bowl below the elements fits very well in a dishwasher, making it very easy to clean. And if you keep the lid closed while cooking, the smoke will build up nicely on the inside allowing for the great flavor Weber is famous for.
This unit must be cleaned after each use. At the bottom of the grill there is a nice small removable drip pan that collects all the fat and the juices making it easy to clean. It is a very nice design and you can also purchase extra inexpensive trays for future use.
The food on this grill is really moist and develops a great sear. The design uses aluminum lining inside both the lid and bottom of the grill to reflect the heat. The heat is just amazing for an electric grill, but it needs more time for the temperature to come back to normal after opening the lid.
